My favorite project from this year was the light painting because we got to work together as a whole class to create scenes to take pictures of. I also enjoyed how we got to create the picture instead of just taking a picture of something. I developed the most from the lantern project because I learned how to take pictures from different angles, and how to work with lighting and to experiment with it. I also got to practice and develop more skills in Adobe Illustrator with the lantern project. The nine visual blunders project helped me learn different “rules” to be aware of when taking pictures and helped me when we took a trip to Tangerini’s to take pictures. I learned what to look out for when taking pictures and at Tangerini’s and for example, I learned to not cut off pieces of a building in a picture. The project I felt that was least important in learning in this course was doing to the hamburger project. I had already learned about how to use photoshop in previous years, so doing this project was a little redundant and most of us in class knew how to use the program. The gradient portrait was a project I had a personal connection to because it was an image and painting of me and of doing something I love to do which is running. I also liked painting the image and getting to create the piece of artwork in a different way than we had done before. Art class this year gave me a chance to relax a little and discover that it’s fun to take pictures and to be creative. I learned that art is all around us and that the perfect picture is always there, but you may just have to do a little work to get it.
